CSKA Moscow forward Andrei Kirilenko, formerly of the Utah Jazz, has been named Euroleague MVP, tournament organizers said Sunday.

Kirilenko won the award at the first attempt after leading CSKA to Sunday’s Euroleague final in his first season since returning last year after ten seasons in the NBA.

Kirilenko also collected the award for the best defensive player, while Montepaschi Siena’s New Orleans-born point guard Bo McCaleb was named top scorer and Real Madrid’s power forward Nikola Mirotic received the Rising Star award for the second year in a row.

During his time in the NBA, Kirilenko became an All-Star in 2004 and made the All-Rookie First Team in his debut season in 2002.

CSKA will play Greek side Olympiacos in Sunday’s final in Istanbul after overcoming another Greek team, defending Euroleague champion Panathinaikos, in the semifinal on Friday.
