Avangard Omsk fans were “uncivilized” and sore losers for showering coins and bottles on the victorious Dynamo Moscow team after the Gagarin Cup decider, Dynamo forward Mikhail Anisin has said.

The Dynamo players were pelted with objects from the stands as they celebrated their first Gagarin Cup win, sealed with a 1-0 win in Omsk on Wednesday for a 4-3 series victory.

“It’s a complete outrage when people pelt a team with bottles and coins,” Anisin said Wednesday.

“I think this behavior is just redneck stuff, uncivilized,” he added.

Dynamo’s fans are more respectful and Avangard’s supporters are sore losers, Anisin said.

“We respected Omsk and St. Pete and our fans don’t behave that way. It’s just uncivilized when people throw coins. You have to be able to lose.”

Diminutive forward Anisin, 22, joined Dynamo midway through the season from outsider Vityaz Chekhov. After a slow start to his time at Dynamo in the regular season, he dominated in the playoffs, notching up 14 goals and five assists in 22 games, including a hat-trick in the last game against SKA.
