Poland's footballers will get a €3.75 million bonus for winning Euro 2012, the tournament's site reported Saturday citing the country's football union.

Half of the June 8 to July 1 tournament is taking place in Poland, with the other half in neighboring Ukraine.

Poland opens the competition in Warsaw against Greece, then plays Russia and Czech Republic.

The whole team will be awarded €500,000 for each win and €250,000 for a draw, the website said.

The players will get €1 million if they are knocked out in the quarterfinals, €1.5 million if they are eliminated in the semifinals, €2.25 million for finishing runners-up and €3.75 million for winning the competition.

Each of the 23 players chosen for the Euro 2012 squad will be paid €5,000 for each game, regardless of whether they play, the website said.
