Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich will be attending Russia's Euro 2012 group match against Poland in Warsaw, but is not splashing out $1.6 million on a private box as reported in the Polish media, a spokesman told RIA Novosti on Monday.

The Polish online edition Puls Biznesu reported Monday that the Russian billionaire had shelled out on a lavish "presidential" box at the National Stadium for Russia's second group match, against the tournament's co-hosts on June 12.

"Yes, he plans to attend, but the information published in the Polish press is entirely inaccurate," said John Mann, head of public relations at Millhouse LLC, an Abramovich-owned company.

Mann said Abramovich had purchased a box but nowhere near on the scale of the 100-seater tribune as reported in Poland.

Russia play the Czech Republic in their opening game on June 8 in Wroclaw before moving to the capital to face Poland and then Greece four days later.

Poland and Ukraine are sharing the month-long competition, with four cities in each country dividing up the 31 matches. The final is July 1 in Kiev.
