London Spurs player and Russian national team striker Roman Pavlyuchenko is seeking British citizenship, said a correspondent for the R-Sport agency.

Pavlyuchenko moved to the Spurs from Moscow Spartak in August 2008 after a string of successful games during the European Championships. Since then, the attacker did not manage to win a place in the starting lineup for Spurs.

"According to Russian and English legislation, Roman may have dual citizenship. Once he's lived there for five years, he plans to get a British passport. In principle, this applies to anyone who lives in England for five years, " R-Sport correspondent Oleg Artemov said in a telephone conversation.

Pavlyuchenko's departure from Spurs has not yet been ruled out in January. However, according to Artemov, there is no uncertainty regarding the future employment of the thirty-year-old footballer.
