Several Russian Paralympic athletes asked IPC to review their individual requests for participation in the upcoming Rio Games.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has received the letters from a number of Russian Paralympic athletes asking to review their individual requests for participation in the upcoming Rio Games, IPC's spokesman Craig Spence told Sputnik on Monday.

"The IPC can confirm receiving several letters last week from Russian athletes and received a number more over the weekend," Spence said. "Internal discussions about the letters are ongoing."

After the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) upheld the IPC ruling to suspend Russian Paralympians from the upcoming Summer Games in Rio on August 22, a number of Russian athletes sent letters to the IPC requesting it to consider allowing them to participate in the games.
