MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The Russian team has still not received formal approval from a Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) arbitrator to participate in 2016 Rio Olympic Games, Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko said on Saturday.
"There is little time before August 5 [start of the Rio Olympics] and we still have not received formal approval for the team’s participation," Mutko said.
On Sunday, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) left it to the respective individual sports federations to decide whether Russian athletes should be allowed to compete at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
