MOSCOW, October 25 (RIA Novosti) - It is not news for everybody that show business puts enormous pressure on models and actors in terms of conformity with beauty standards, with Hollywood being among the most merciless entertainment and media industries regarding “employee” appearance.
Practice shows that after turning 30, most Hollywood actresses consider Botox shots or facial surgery, with only the most steadfast refusing to go under the knife.
“When they do their face, they hope to keep getting the A-list parts. They don't want to play grandmothers. They want the leading roles," said American film blogger Sasha Stone, cited by France24.
The latest case of Hollywood actress and “Bridgit Jones” star Rene Zellweger shows that middle-age stars are ready to do anything to stay youthful and beautiful. 2014 Oscar-winner and one of the highest paid Hollywood actresses provoked lively discussions after she attended a Hollywood awards ceremony a few days ago, revealing a totally new look. Remarks about her “new face” flooded the Internet, saying that she is “barely recognizable” and “different-looking”. Some of her fans expressed worries about her health condition, while others tried to guess what kind of plastic surgery she underwent.

Fashion trends as well as constant demand for young faces force actresses to change their appearances until they look neither attractive, nor recognizable. Unsuccessful plastic surgery is reported to have affected many celebrities, such as Daryl Hannah, Dolly Parton, Joan Rivers, Melanie Griffith and Donatella Versace.
The possibility of operation failure doesn’t prevent celebrities from reworking their looks. More troubling is, however, that plastic surgery trend affects ordinary people, resulting in an epidemic of low self-appraisal among women.
