Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin proposed on Thursday reducing the nearly two-week-long Christmas and New Year holidays and shifting them to May.
Russians celebrate Christmas on January 7 while New Year holidays are usually from January 1 through January 10.
“I propose limiting all these holidays to January 7, Christmas, with all other public days off to be moved, for example, to May,” he said.
