SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket with Dragon capsule has been rolled to the launch pad at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida in preparations for the first commercial launch to the International Space Station, NASA said on its website.

“The rocket will be elevated to its vertical position [on Sunday], powered and fueled ahead of the 8:35 p.m. EDT liftoff,” NASA said.

It is the first of 12 flights to the ISS that SpaceX will make under its $1.6 billion Commercial Resupply Services contract.

The Dragon made a demonstration flight to the ISS in April.

This time it will be carrying about 453 kilograms of food and clothing, experimental equipment and various technical gear.

“The weather forecast remains 60 percent favorable for launch of the SpaceX CRS-1 mission,” NASA said. If the weather is unfavorable tonight, the launch may be moved back 24 hours, when favorability will rise to 80 percent.
