Putin Extends Two Deputy Foreign Ministers' Service Contracts for 1 Year

Deputy Foreign Ministers Grigoriy Karasin and Gennady Gatilov will serve at least for one year more, a newly issued presidential decree stated.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a one-year civil service extension for Deputy Foreign Ministers Grigoriy Karasin and Gennady Gatilov in a decree published on the official portal of legal information Thursday said.

"Extend the term of federal public service for one year for Gatilov Gennady Mikhailovich – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; Karasin Grigoriy Borisovich – State Secretary — Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs," the document states.

Karasin oversees relations with the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries and compatriots living abroad. Gatilov is responsible for multilateral diplomatic matters related to Russia’s participation in the United Nations and other specialized international agencies.
