Russian President Vladimir Putin said Friday that anti-Russian opposition figures would never be nominated to hold leading positions in the government.

SELIGER (Tver Region), August 29 (RIA Novosti) – Russian President Vladimir Putin said Friday that anti-Russian opposition representatives  would never be nominated to hold leading positions in the government.

“I’m coming from the fundamental reasons for the survival of our government and this is not to nominate these types of people to key positions in the government,” Putin said.

The Russian president also said that, although the basis for the political system in Russia has been created, it may transform, as Russia will have to resolve new issues that arise with time.

Putin pointed out that all possible corrections in policy should be carried out taking into account the opinion of the nation, and that modern technologies can provide that opportunity.

The president also said that only after putting them into practice can we find out how various elements of a political system really work.

Putin spoke of these issues during the Seliger-2014 educational forum – the 10th of its kind – at which young people gather to discuss political and social issues.
