MOSCOW, June 11 (RIA Novosti) – Russia’s state nuclear energy corporation Rosatom plans to develop a new intergovernmental agreement on peaceful nuclear energy with Argentina this year, according to the company’s draft 2013 annual report.

Earlier, Rosatom CEO Sergei Kirienko stated that Russia’s nuclear industry is interested in participating in Latin American countries’ national nuclear energy programs, especially those of Brazil and Argentina.

Additionally, the exchange of diplomatic notes with Japan for the purposes of storing nuclear materials at Russian facilities in accordance with a 2009 intergovernmental agreement on peaceful nuclear energy is expected to be completed later this year.
