MOSCOW, September 19 (RIA Novosti) - One person has died in a fire in Moscow, the Russian Emergencies Ministry reported Thursday.
The fire broke out on the seventh floor of a nine-story building on Startovaya Street in the Russian capital’s northeast, the ministry said.
“The flames were extinguished at 02:24 Moscow time,” the ministry’s statement said. “Six people were rescued from upper floors. One person died.”
It was not immediately clear what had caused the fire. An investigation is underway.

Some people are trying to make the reality in Russia at least a bit more humane. The amnesty should apply not only to persons involved in high-profile cases, but also to individuals who are not as well-known. It is better to set free at least some of the individuals who deserve to be released than no one at all.
