MOSCOW, August 28 (RIA Novosti) - About 18,000 people visited the MAKS-2013 airshow just outside Moscow on the first day, the region’s police department said in Tuesday.
Some 1,460 police and servicemen were deployed in the area to maintain security and public order at the at the airfield of the Mikhail Gromov Flight Research Institute and more than a thousand of police and private security guards - in the town of Zhukovsky, where the airfield is located.
MAKS 2013 runs from August 27 through September 1.
