At least ten people on their way to a wedding were killed early on Sunday when the minibus they were riding in collided with a truck on a highway in southern Russia's Stavropol region, local emergencies services reported.
“Ten people, including a child, died in the accident,” spokesman Oleg Degtyaryov said.
According to preliminary investigation, the minibus swerved to an opposite lane and collided head-on with a DAF truck.
“Only the truck driver survived,” a police source told RIA Novosti. “A man, two women and a five-year-old child died on the way to the hospital, while six other victims died in the collision.”
Traffic police continue to investigate the crash.
