Russia may give $10 billion to the International Monetary Fund to support the crisis-hit euro zone, Russian Finance Minister, Anton Siluanov said on Friday.
«Europeans are ready to provide most of the funds to the IMF… as well as China, Japan,” Siluanov said, adding that Russia may also provide “about $10 billion” to the IMF.
The Minister said that the money would be allocated from the Central Bank.
In mid-December, the presidential aide, Arkady Dvorkovich said that Russia, the EU’s third largest trade partner, was ready to contribute at least $10 billion to the IMF as “it hoped to keep its largest export market from collapsing.”
