Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on Thursday accused opposition leaders of insulting demonstrators at last week's protests over alleged electoral fraud.

“Do you want rulers would shout at you, saying: “Come on, you cattle!” Putin said at his annual Q&A session with the nation.

Putin was refering to a remark by opposition activist Alexei Navalny during a protest on December 5.
