The majority of Muscovites approve of the job performance of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, who took up his duties one year ago, leading Russian polling agency VTsIOM said.
Sergei Sobyanin, former presidential chief of staff, replaced Yury Luzhkov, who had been mayor for nearly two decades.
Seventy five percent of elderly Muscovites and 78 percent of middle-income people rated Sobyanin's job performance as highly positive. Among the minority who disapprove of his job performance, most are younger people and those with higher educations.
