Russian President Dmitry Medvedev proposed on Friday drafting more streamlined regulations for charity activities.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev proposed on Friday drafting more streamlined regulations for charity activities.

Currently Russia has no clear-cut regulations providing tax deductions for businesses who donate to charity.

Anton Nosik, founder of the pomogi.org charity foundation, complained to Medvedev at a meeting with Internet media representatives that the absence of clear regulations was causing problems to both donors and recipients of aid.

Medvedev said he had heard similar complaints from a number of business representatives who wanted to donate money to charity.

"People want to donate money to worthwhile projects, but there are no mechanisms," he said. "I would like to regulate this."
