Russian investigators need to study a range of official documents and probes and then will give a conclusion on the causes of the plane crash that killed then Polish President Lech Kaczynski in April 2010, an official investigations spokesman, Vladimir Markin, said on Wednesday.

President Kaczynski and 95 other dignitaries were killed when their plane crashed in poor weather conditions near the western Russian city of Smolensk on April 10.

In order to establish the causes of the plane crash, the conditions in which it occurred and those guilty in causing the accident, investigators "have to analyze and compare all of the available materials related to the case, including the report by the [Interstate Aviation Committee's] technical commission, results of the air-technical and other legal documents," Markin said.

Poland has not yet transferred any information to the Investigation Committee on phone calls made by the passengers of the ill-fated airliner prior to its attempted landing, Markin said.

A team of investigators from the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) said in a new report released on Wednesday that pilot error was the main cause of the deadly crash. IAC head Tatyana Anodina listed a number of mistakes that could have contributed to the air disaster, including the crew's decision not to land at another airport despite being informed of unfavorable weather conditions at their destination.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Wednesday urgently returned from vacation for the announcement of the results of the IAC investigation, Polish media said.

Polish experts said they were dissatisfied with the documents provided by Russia. Most of the complaints concerned a lack of technical details about the Severny Airport in Smolensk where the plane was due to land.
