The youth wing of the ruling United Russia party, the Young Guard filed a complaint to a Moscow court on Friday that they were unfairly named "extremist" by opposition leader Boris Nemtsov on a popular radio station.

Representatives from the movement demanded that Nemtsov refute the words, which are "false and discrediting to the group's reputation."

Nemtsov, a staunch critic of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and leader of the opposition Solidarity movement, made the claim on liberal Moscow radio station Ekho Moskvy.

The former deputy prime minister told RIA Novosti he would be glad to meet the youth group in court, having already won a case against pro-Kremlin youth group Nashin (Ours). The group took him to court for suggesting that they were responsible for attempting to poison him in 2009.
