The Russian and Kyzryz Interior Ministries on Tuesday signed a cooperation agreement for the next two years.

The document was signed by Russian Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev and his Kyrgyz counterpart Zarylbek Rysaliyev.

Interior ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), an alliance between seven former Soviet states, agreed at a meeting earlier on Tuesday to re-assess national legislation and work out effective mechanisms to respond to new threats and challenges.

The Russian Interior Ministry proposed drafting a CSTO treaty on the fight against organized crime, terrorism, and drug trafficking.
