Members of the State Duma, Russia's lower house, and the Federation Council, the upper chamber, stood in silence at the beginning of their respective sessions to pay tribute to late Polish President Lech Kaczynski, his wife and another 95 individuals, including dozens of the country's top officials, who died in a plane crash near the Russian city of Smolensk on Saturday.

According to preliminary information Kaczynski's Tu-154 plane, caught the tops of trees while landing in heavy fog at a military airport near Smolensk.
