MOSCOW, September 9 (RIA Novosti) - The owner of a Siberian hydroelectric power plant where a recent accident killed at least 74 people, said on Wednesday it would replace all damaged generating units by 2014.

State-controlled RusHydro, which owns the Sayano-Shushenskaya station in Siberia's Khakasia Republic, said between two and four units would be restored in 2010.

The company earlier said repairing the damage could take up to two years, and Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko estimated the cost at over 40 billion rubles ($1.2 billion).

Earlier on Wednesday, a 74th body was discovered at the site of the August 17 accident, and one woman is still listed as missing.

The exact cause of the accident remains unknown, and the probe is continuing. A special investigations committee is looking into possible violations of work safety regulations.

Russia's crumbling infrastructure, underfunded since the 1990s, has often been the cause of deadly industrial accidents.

According to Russian media reports, a local journalist critical of the dam disaster was assaulted earlier on Wednesday near his apartment building.

Mikhail Afanasyev, editor of the Khakasia-based Novy Focus online magazine, said he had been attacked by at least two assailants, who kicked him and beat him with sticks until he lost consciousness.
