MOSCOW, December 19 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Ground Forces command is suspected of diverting over 100 million rubles ($3.6 million) of state funds, the chief military prosecutor said Friday.
"We have carried out an investigation in the office of the Ground Forces command," Sergei Fridinsky said. "In just that one office eight criminal cases were launched."
"People here have light fingers," he added.
A Moscow military court on Thursday sanctioned the arrest of Col. Boris Segeda, an aide to Russia's Ground Forces commander suspected of taking large bribes.
