VLADIKAVKAZ, October 1 (RIA Novosti) - The head of the criminal investigation department in Russia's Caucasus republic of North Ossetia has been shot dead, the republic's investigations committee said on Wednesday.
The statement said unknown assailants opened fire on police chief Cheldiyev's car on Wednesday morning on the outskirts of the republic's capital, Vladikavkaz.
His son was also killed in the attack.
