MOSCOW, August 16 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's state-controlled nuclear equipment exporter Techsnabexport (Tenex) has been incorporated into the civilian nuclear power vertically integrated holding Atomenergoprom, which was established pursuant to the Russian president's order, Atomenergoprom said Thursday.

Rosenergoatom's transformation comes as part of a nuclear industry restructuring plan ordered by President Vladimir Putin April 27. The president instructed that a government corporation, Atomenergoprom, be set up to run the entire industry by January 2008.

Under the president's decree, Atomenergoprom will integrate 31 civilian nuclear energy companies by the end of the year.

Atomenergoprom, which will be wholly controlled by the government, will be a full-cycle corporation engaged in activities ranging from uranium extraction, fuel production and electric power generation, to the construction of nuclear power plants, both at home and abroad.
