MOSCOW, July 6 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's government will discuss a plan to establish three or four integrated structures incorporating about 60% of all space industry enterprises at a meeting Thursday, a source said.

Under a strategy for the sector's development until 2015, the country will overhaul production and testing facilities in the industry, develop science and technical, and technological potentials. Improving output quality, increasing competitiveness, strengthening positions on world markets, developing private-state partnership and improving staff training are also priorities.

The strategy suggests that six major integrated structures be formed. "They will be later turned into three or four core enterprises comprising 60% of the industry," the source said.

A total of 112 ventures now operate in the industry, including 66 research and development and 31 industrial establishments. The sector employs 250,000 people.

Under the plans, production is expected to grow 8% a year and Russia's share on the world space market will increase from 11% to 21%. The share of new production equipment is to increase from the current 3% to 33-35%.
