MOSCOW, August 31 (RIA Novosti) - Former Yukos CEO Mikhail Khodorkovsky has the right to stand for election since the court's sentence has not yet come into effect, head of the Central Election Committee Alexander Beshnyakov said Wednesday.
"According to article 32 of the Russian Constitution, any citizen may vote and be elected if he or she has not been imprisoned by a court order or not deemed legally incompetent by a court decision," Veshnyakov said.
