ZUYEVO (Tver region), June 16 (RIA Novosti) - Fuel oil found its way into the Volga river after a railroad accident happened near Rzhev. "Environmental authorities motored down the river from the site of the crash in the morning and discovered that about 70% of water surface was coated with an iridescent film," Oleg Petrov, deputy prosecutor of the Volga interregional environmental department, said.
He stated that oil products had found their way into the Volga.
"About 50% of the surface is also covered with an oil film where the Vazuza river flows into the Volga," the official added.
