"Taking into account the de-facto situation with the threat of terrorism – it is not Turkey’s phenomenon, such a risk unfortunately haunts us all in many countries and the geography is absolutely unpredictable – but in this case, every tourist there will have to decide on their own and be responsible for their safety if they decide to travel," Peskov told reporters.
Speaking of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s decision to lift tourist restrictions and charter flights following an apology from and a phone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Wednesday, Peskov voiced hope that security in Turkey "would change only for the better, but we must be prepared for the worst."
"That is why of course, citizens who choose Turkey and other places where this threat has to be dealt with as tourist destinations, they must take the necessary precautions," the spokesman stressed.
