Ukrainian Politicians to Change Approach to Country After Elections: Prime Minister

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk noted that his election as the prime minister of Ukraine after the formation of a new coalition in parliament depended “solely on the will of the Ukrainian people.”

KIEV, October 26 (RIA Novosti) - After voting at one of the polling stations in Kiev Sunday, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk stated that following the elections the approach of politicians to the country will change.

“I expect the elections to bring changes, changes of the political elites, as well as the political elite's approach to the country, to [their] responsibilities, to the realization of what millions of Ukrainians are waiting for,” Yatsenyuk said.

Yatsenyuk also noted that his election as the prime minister of Ukraine after the formation of a new coalition in parliament depended “solely on the will of the Ukrainian people.”

Early parliamentary elections are being held in Ukraine Sunday, October 26. Ukrainians are going to the polls to vote in 424 members to the Ukrainian Parliament, known as the Verkhovna Rada.

225 of the candidates are from party lists and 199 in single-candidate constituencies, according to the Central Election Commission. The electoral threshold is 5 percent.
