The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) is regretting its decision to deprive the Russian delegation of its voting rights, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Monday.

MOSCOW, October 20 (RIA Novosti) - The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) is regretting its decision to deprive the Russian delegation of its voting rights, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Monday.

“…PACE, I know, already regrets the decision taken but continues to pretend that they did the right thing,” Lavrov said.

Despite the absence of the Russian delegation in PACE, the country is discussed by the assembly on a regular basis, according to the foreign minister.

In April, PACE suspended Russia's voting rights over its reunification with Crimea. To protest the expulsion, Russia’s delegation walked out of the assembly’s spring session.

Later, Moscow officially informed PACE about its decision to halt bilateral cooperation and skip its summer session.
