MOSCOW, October 19 (RIA Novosti) - The Iranian military has proof that Pakistani fighters have been crossing into neighboring Iran to carry out terrorist attacks, a high-ranking military official said Saturday.
"We have provided information and complete documents about the infiltration of terrorist elements [from Pakistan into Iran] to political and security officials to be pursued through diplomatic channels," Associated Press cited Revolutionary Guard commander Abdollah Araghi as saying.
Four Iranian border guards were slaughtered last week by unknown attackers in Iran's eastern Sistan province on the border with Pakistan's southwestern Baluchistan province.
Sneak attacks from the Pakistani territory forced Tehran to erect a concrete barrier on the border between the two countries back in 2007. According to Iran, it also serves to prevent drug trafficking.
