STRASBOURG, September 30 (RIA Novosti) – The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe is set to monitor the upcoming Ukrainian parliamentary elections, Marietta de Pourbaix-Lundin, PACE rapporteur on Ukraine told RIA Novosti on Tuesday.

Pourbaix-Lundin said that she would be a part of the council's pre-electoral mission and observation mission for the elections.

Early elections to the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's unicameral parliament, are set to take place on October 26.

Answering a question about whether she had any information about the mass graves found near Donetsk, Pourbaix-Lundin said that she is to meet with many Ukrainian NGO representatives and Amnesty International representatives Tuesday, who will inform her about what is happening in Ukraine.

In recent days, several mass burial sites have been found near the eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk. According to local residents, the graves mostly contain the bodies of civilians massacred by Ukrainian forces.
