MOSCOW, September 24 (RIA Novosti) - The next round of Israeli-Palestinian talks is set to take place at the end of October, Egypt's Foreign Ministry wrote in a statement.

Israeli and Palestinian delegations met for indirect talks in Cairo on Tuesday. The sides agreed to uphold the truce and presented their suggestions for discussing unsettled issues. Negotiations are to continue in the second half of October, the Egyptian foreign ministry informed following the meeting.

The talks were nearly canceled as Palestinian negotiators considered pulling out after the killing of two Palestinians by Israeli forces.

Earlier on Tuesday, Israeli officials announced that two Palestinian suspects, accused of murdering three Israeli teenagers earlier in the summer were killed in an operation carried out by Israeli forces.

On August 26, Israel and Palestinian armed groups agreed on a ceasefire following 50 days of military operations by Israel targeting the Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip. According to UN estimates, over 2,100 Palestinians and 71 Israelis have been killed in the conflict.
