Crimea Relives Its Glorious Past: Military Historical Festival in Sevastopol

Over 600 reenactors from various regions of Russia took part in the Crimean Military-Historical Festival in Sevastopol.

On four demonstration sites the spectators could observe the reenactment of events from eight historical periods related to the cultural legacy of Crimea.

The festival lasted for six days, from September 9 till September 14.

Each day of the festival was dedicated to a particular time period. They were: Day of Antiquity, Age of the Vikings Day, Middle Ages Day, Civil War Day, World War II Day, and Polite People Day.

On September 13, 2014 the reenactment of two WWII battles - the Defense of Sevastopol of 1942 and the Liberation of Sevastopol of 1944 - took place at Fedyukhin Heights near Sevastopol. Over 30 thousand spectators had visited the festival on that day.
