Life under Fire: How Things Are in Donetsk Region

The Ukrainian troops are not deploying ballistic missiles in the country's restive east, as they are "very powerful," Andrei Lysenko, speaker for the press centre of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council told RIA Novosti. On Tuesday CNN reported citing sources in US intelligence that Ukrainian troops started using short-range ballistic missiles in the country's east, with 454-kilogram warheads and 89-kilometer combat radius.

Refugees from embattled Shakhtarsk say the situation is tense in the town. "The house was bombed, and we ran out of it as we were," they say. "Combat operations are on in Donetsk as well, but it couldn't compare to what Shakhtarsk and Slavyansk residents had to go through," the refugees state.
