Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Muslims on Kurban Bairam, saying it has “a deep spiritual significance” and Prime Minister Medvedev stressed the importance of inter-faith and interethnic harmony.
Kurban Bairam marks the end of the annual pilgrimage to Mecca, or Hajj, which every Muslim is encouraged to perform at least once, if they can afford it.
