October 24 marks Daniel Swarovski's 150th anniversary. Although not much of a violinist, Swarovski was a highly successful inventor. He patented a crystal cutting machine 120 years ago and in 1895 founded a crystal manufacturing company, whose motto reads: “To constantly improve what is good.”A century later, the Swarovski Kristallwelten museum (Swarovski Crystal Worlds) was established.
