Last week, the Japanese Government bought three islands, part of the Diaoyu Islands (Japanese name: Senkaku Islands) from a private owner. Beijing considers these islands to be Chinese territory. The People’s Republic of China has strongly protested the nationalization of “traditional Chinese territory” by Japan.
