In the finals, which took place on Sunday, the national team scored 98.300 points. The Russian women’s team won all the gold medals in the synchronized swimming competitions: their previous victories were in the solo, duet and team competitions.
On August 8, the Russian duet Svetlana Romashina and Natalia Ishchenko (pictured left to right) won gold medals. The Secret Agents, as the pair call themselves, dazzled the audience and judges, scoring 98.7 points.
“Even when they have been practicing the choreography for two years, they still make mistakes,” coach Tatiana Danchenko told the website http://www.sovsport.ru. “There are some elements the girls and I are one hundred percent sure about, but there are also some that get worn out over time, and you have to work hard to breathe new life into them. But today I am pleased with Sveta and Natasha’s performance.”

The previous European champions – the Spanish national team – won silver medals this year with their free combination performance.
The Spanish team scored 97.000 points.
Ukraine came in third place with 94.100 points.
