Russian President Dmitry Medvedev visited on August 3a fire station in the Imeretin Valley which provides fire protection service in the Adler district. Minister of Civil Defense, Emergencies and Disaster Relief Sergei Shoigu accompanied the president during the visit.

Dmitry Medvedev met with the station’s staff.
The head of state was shown the equipment at the station.
Medvedev charged Shoigu with creating a special program for the financial and technical support of the fire protection service.
According to Medvedev, this program should also include the issue of providing fire stations with transportation and not only with aircraft.

Forest fires are currently raging in 17 Russian regions. Medvedev has already charged the government with ordering and purchasing additional units of equipment used when extinguishing wildfires, including Be-200 aircraft, and with working out a complex program of reaction in such cases of emergency.
