Russian President Dmitry Medvedev met with Prime Minister Vladimir Putin in Sochi on Wednesday after the latter’s return from the former Georgian republic of Abkhazia. They took a walk along the seafront in the Black Sea resort city after the meeting.
Sochi residents and holidaymakers did not at first pay attention to the president and prime minister. A woman suggested it was two lookalikes strolling along the boardwalk. “No, we are quite real,” Medvedev smiled.

Russia was losing 3-1 when the high-profile fans arrived at the cafe. Medvedev urged people in the cafe to cheer louder for the Russian team.
Several minutes later, the Russians score another goal.
The president is served with a cup of green tea and a soft drink, while the prime minister has a glass of beer and pistachios and peanuts. Medvedev and Putin, and other cafe visitors, agree after the match that losing 3-2 to a team as good as Argentina is not a bad result.
