Ukraine's President Viktor Yanukovich had a meeting with Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro during a state visit to Havana on Saturday, an official statement said.
Yanukovich and Castro had a private face-to-face meeting lasted more than two hours, the statement said without disclosing the details of the talks.
Earlier on Saturday, Yanukovych received the Jose Marti award, the highest state award in Cuba.
Cuban President Raul Castro awarded Yanukovych for his "contribution to the development of bilateral relations between Ukraine and Cuba, as well as 'a sign of respect and admiration' of the Cuban people to the Ukrainian people," the statement said.
