Japanese carmaker Nissan, part of an alliance with France's Renault, is considering a share swap with Russia's largest car producer AvtoVAZ, Sergei Chemezov, head of state-owned hi-tech corporation Russian Technologies (Rustekhnologia), said on Thursday.

Currently, Renault owns 25 percent plus one share in AvtoVAZ, as do investment firm Troika Dialog and Russian Technologies. Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said in June that Renault might raise its stake in AvtoVAZ in exchange for the French government share in Renault.

When asked about a possible share swap between Renault and AvtoVAZ, Chemezov said "Renault was not yet ready for it," but added that Troika Dialog was ready to exchange its stake with either Renault or Nissan.

"An evaluation has to be done. We have not finished talking yet," Chemezov said.

"Renault is not likely to agree, while Nissan is basically ready to accept the deal," he added.
