MOSCOW, October 7 (RIA Novosti) – A gala show, Russian Day: Treasures of the 21st Century, was staged in the Netherlands to promote the best of Russian ballet and Russian-Dutch cultural cooperation.
The gala show of Russian ballet stars was held in Amsterdam on Friday. Those who attended the performance in the Carr Theater applauded the masterful performance of Russian ballet dancers from the Bolshoi Theater (Moscow) and four St. Petersburg theaters: the Mariinsky Theater, the Mikhailovsky Theater, the Ballet Theater of Leonid Yakobson and the Eifman Ballet.
The Dutch audience enjoyed the unmatched ballet techniques of Bolshoi principal dancers Svetlana Zakharova, Yevgenia Obraztsova, Mikhail Lobukin and Vladislav Lantratov, the principal dancer of the Mariinsky Theater Viktoria Teryoshkina, and other ballet stars, who danced to the music of the best Russian ballet pieces.
The organizers of Russian Day said the gala show was designed to promote Russia’s topmost ballet achievements to the Dutch public, as well as to further Russian-Dutch cultural cooperation.
The Russian Day: Treasures of the 21st Century gala was organized as part of the Russia and the Netherlands bilateral year.
