Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg announced on Wednesday a partnership with Skype to add video chat to the functions on the social networking site.
Zuckenberg also said Facebook now had some 750 million members.
Competitor Google also recently launched a Facebook rival, Google+, which boasts video calling.
Skype is currently being sold to Microsoft, itself a major shareholder in Facebook.
