PRETORIA (South Africa), September 17 (RIA Novosti) - The foreign orders portfolio of Russia's state arms exporter Rosoboronexport currently stands at $38.7 billion, the company's General Director Anatoly Isaykin said Wednesday.

"It is one of the highest figures that the company registered in the past few years," Isaykin said on the sidelines of the Africa Aerospace and Defence-2014 arms show in South Africa.

Isaykin said that the company continued to receive orders and the portfolio was stable.

"We have no reasons to expect it [the portfolio] to shrink this year," he added.

Earlier in July, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that in the first half of 2014 the country's weapons and military hardware sales were estimated at $5.6 billion.

Rosoboronexport is part of Russian Technologies State Corporation Rostec. It is the sole Russian state intermediary agency that is responsible for import and export of the full range of defense and dual-use products, technologies and services. Rosoboronexport cooperates with more than 70 countries around the world.

The Africa Aerospace and Defence-2014 exhibition of air, sea and land technologies is taking place in Pretoria, South Africa, from September 17 to 21. The exhibition is to be attended by 347 exhibitors from 26 countries and see 40,000 trade visitors from 101 states in attendance.
